This jelly belly fur clip is a book piece (Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry 1935-1958, page 156), designed by Alfred Philippe in 1943. They call it the Eastern Screech Owl. There is some minor loss of gold wash around one eye and a little on the back, otherwise the condition would be excellent.
