Layaway orders will only be accepted for orders totaling $250 or more, excluding shipping charges.
Granny's Jewelry Box will hold item(s) described below for a period of not more than 60 days in order for you to make your purchase in three (3) payments, each being one third (1/3) of the total amount due, including shipping charges. Accepted forms of payment for layaways is limited to personal checks, money orders and Postal Money Orders.
Payment 1 (your deposit) is due not more than 7 days from initial order date.
Payment 2 is due not more than 30 days from initial order date.
Payment 3 is due not more than 60 days from initial order date.
During this 60 day period, said item(s) will not be offered for sale to the general public. Deposit must be received by Granny's Jewelry Box within 7 days of order or item(s) will again be offered for sale to the general public. A deposit check that is returned for any reason will nullify this agreement and said item(s) will immediately be offered for sale to the general public. A $35 service charge will be accessed on all returned checks.*
Layaway may be cancelled via email, with a full refund of deposit, within 10 days of order date. After 10 days, there will be no refund of deposit.
Deposits made by check or money order must clear the bank before a refund will be made. Deposits made by Postal Money Order will be refunded within 72 hours of my receiving cancelation notice by email.
Upon receipt of a layaway order, Granny's Jewelry Box will issue a Layaway Confirmation which will include the order date, total order amount and the due date for each payment. Please keep this confirmation for your records. As payments are received by Granny's Jewelry Box, you will be sent Payment Confirmations which will show the total order amount, amount of payments received and the date received, the balance due and the due date of payments remaining. Please keep these confirmations for your records also.
Any layaway not paid in full in the 60 day period will once again be offered for sale to the general public, unless special arrangements have been made with Granny's Jewelry Box. After the 60 day period, if said item(s) sells before being paid in full by the undersigned, a website credit will be given for payments made beyond the initial non-refundable deposit, minus a 25% service charge. Outstanding balance may be paid in full by the undersigned as long as item(s) remains in stock.
As always, all items purchased on layaway from Granny's Jewelry Box may be returned for a refund as long as (1) item(s) are returned in "as sent" condition, (2) I am notified within 2 days of receipt of your intention to return, and (3) item(s) are received by me within 5 days of return notification at buyers expense, including insurance**. These returns, however, are subject to a service charge due to the extended period of time that the item(s) were not available for sale. The service charge is determined by the length of time that the item(s) were held. For item(s) held between 11 and 29 days the service charge is 33% of the agreed upon sale price of the item(s). For item(s) held 30 days or longer the service charge is 50% of the agreed upon sale price of the item(s). Order date is used to determine length of time held.
** If you choose to ship uninsured, there will be absolutely no refunds for merchandise damaged or lost in the mail.
Returned Check Policy
I really hate the fact that I must have a returned check policy, but there are some customers(those that don't make good on them) that make it necessary, so here it is. Returned checks will incur a $35 service charge, no exceptions! If I have not received a POSTAL MONEY ORDER for the full amount of the returned check plus the $35 service charge within 15 business days after an emailed notification of a returned check, it will be turned over to Virginia Court Services for collection. Once it has been turned over for collection I can no longer accept your Postal Money Order. Virginia Court Services will also recover all collection fees from you.
