Ordering Information
Orders should be placed using Granny's Jewelry Box shopping cart.
Place items in your virtual shopping cart by clicking on the "add to cart" button.
To see the items in your cart click on the shopping cart icon located in the side bar of each page.
Items can be removed from your cart at any time by clicking on the shopping cart icon to show the cart contents and then clicking on "remove".
To complete your order, again click on the shopping cart icon to see the contents of your shopping cart.
If you are a Virginia resident check the box indicating such.
Select the appropriate shipping option. For USA buyers, USA General is the appropriate option for all jewelry except charms.
If you have a discount coupon, enter the coupon code and click on ENTER
to calculate the discount.
Select your payment method.
Click on the button that says "Purchase for $....." to be taken to a form to enter your shipping information.
If paying by credit card you will proceed to a secure page to enter your credit card information.
All items are subject to prior sale. You will be notified by e-mail within 24 hours if the item(s) you have requested are not available, otherwise you can assume they are available.
Payment Methods - USA
Check/Money Order - Item(s) will be put on hold once we are notified that payment has been mailed.
Shipment 12 business days after receipt of payment unless drawn on a Bank of America, Suntrust or Wachovia account.
Checks drawn on Bank of America, Suntrust or Wachovia account will be shipped within 2 business days of receipt.
Postal Money Order - Item(s) will be put on hold once we are notified that payment has been mailed.
Shipped within 2 business days after receipt of payment.
Visa/Mastercard/Discover (online)* - Items will be put on hold upon receipt of order.
Shipped to billing address only within 2 business days of payment.

* Billing addresses are verified for every credit card transaction. We ship to billing address only, NO EXCEPTIONS! We reserve the right to refuse payment by credit card if we feel it would not be in our best interest to accept it.
Shipping - USA.
Shipment will be made by U.S. Postal Service unless we agree on another method better suited to your needs. While we ship in a timely manner we have no control over how long it takes the USPS to deliver your package. You must allow 30 days before a package is considered lost and an insurance claim can be filed.

Charms, Sunshine Cloths and Comfort Keys, which can safely be shipped in a padded envelope, have a minimum shipping charge of $3.00. All are very low profit items,offered as a courtesy for our customers. Without the minimum shipping charge we would lose money on credit card orders for these items. Your understanding is appreciated.
** Oversized and/or heavy packages (over 1 pound) will have higher shipping costs which will be determined by weight and destination.
Shipping rates are subject to change at the whim of the U.S. Postal Service. Shipping charges will be added to purchase price.
Returned Checks
Returned checks will incur a $35 service charge, no exceptions
A POSTAL MONEY ORDER for the full amount of the returned check plus the $35 service charge is due within 15 business days of an emailed or phoned notification of a returned check.
Checks not made good within 15 business days will be turned over to
Virginia Court Services for collection. Once a check has been turned over for collection we can no longer accept your Postal Money Order.
Virginia Court Services will also recover all collection fees from you.

Western Union Money Transfer. Item(s) will be put on hold for you once we receive the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number).
Shipped within 2 business day after receipt of payment.
* Because billing addresses are not verifiable for credit cards outside the U.S., international customers must choose beween the following two verification methods.
Verification Method 1
What this involves is me charging a small random amount to your credit card that has no relation to your actual order amount. Within 3 days you should be able to call your credit card customer service number and ask them for the amount charged by VCJ Online (in US dollars please) and email me with that amount. Once I have received the email with the correct amount, your item(s) will be put on hold and your order will be processed immediately.
Verification Method 2
Provide a faxed copy of the portion of your latest credit card bill showing the card issuer, statement date, account number, account holder name and billing address along with a signed statement, which we will provide, authorizing us to charge your card for the amount of your order. Do not fax the portion of your credit card bill that shows your transactions for the billing period. My fax number is 18047464113 and is available 24 hours a day. Once I have received your fax, your item(s) will be put on hold and your order will be processed immediately.
Please include the verification method you prefer as a note in the comments section provided during checkout. If you are not willing to comply with either verification method your order will not be accepted.
** Due to the policy of our insurer, orders from the following countries must be paid in cash via Western Union Money Transfer and are at the buyer's risk since they can not be insured:

Shipping - Intl.
Shipment will be made by U.S. Postal Service. While international shipments leave the U.S. in a timely manner they can be held up for several weeks by your customs office. You must allow 45 days before a package is considered lost and an insurance claim can be filed.
Any duty fees charged by countries outside the United States are the sole responsibility of the buyer and are in addition to charges paid to Granny's Jewelry Box. Customs forms will ALWAYS be filled out truthfully.
Please do not ask us to lie to your government or ours.
Orders under $500 are shipped Priority Mail International flat rate envelope(6-10 business days) and are insured through a private insurer. I do not routinely offer First Class International shipping due to the extended delivery time (4-6 weeks) my international customers have experienced, however, if your payment is via International Postal Money Order (green), Western Union Money Transfer or MoneyGram Money Transfer I will ship that way if you prefer. Please note this preference in the comments box during checkout and you will be emailed the adjusted total for your payment.
Orders totaling over $500 but less than $650 will be insured through the Postal Service, which requires shipment to be either Priority Mail International (6-10 business days) or Express Mail International(3-5 business days). Orders over $650 but less than $2499 require shipment by Global Express Guaranteed.
Shipping and insurance charges for orders $500 and under are included in the total shown on the check out page, however shipping and insurance charges for orders over $500 will be calculated and added to purchase price shown on the check out page.
Due to the large number of packages lost when shipping to Italy, Granny's will only ship there using Priority Mail International (values up to $650) or Express Mail International Guaranteed(values up to $2499)with insurance purchased through the Post Office. An exception can be made if payment is made via Western Union Money Transfer or MoneyGram Money Transfer in which case the shipping charges will drop to the rates for most other countries (excluding Canada).
Return/Refund Policy - General
Every attempt has been made to give a complete and accurate description, along with good clear pictures of
each item offered for sale. We do our best to point any flaws or condition issues. Our main goal is to make you a happy customer!
Please keep in mind that at least 80% of the jewelry on this website is vintage and was made more than 40 years ago and 100% of the jewelry is pre-owned. We can only guarantee to deliver it to you in the condition stated on this website. We can accept no responsibility for anything that occurs once it is in your possession.
If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase you have 2 days from receipt of item (date stated by Delivery Confirmation) to contact Granny's Jewelry Box by e-mail or telephone to arrange a return as long as the item is in the exact condition as when we shipped it. Please note that dealer purchases, items purchased with the intent to resell and orders where overnight shipping has been requested (Express Mail, UPS, FedEx) are FINAL SALES.
Unfortunately there are a small number of people who will buy an item like one they already own that may not be in as good a condition as our item and then try to return theirs for a refund and keep ours. This is MAIL FRAUD, which is a federal offense, and will be prosecuted as such. We take dated pictures of each item before we pack it for shipment that will be turned over to law enforcement as evidence in such cases.
If your package arrives damaged or worse yet, not at all, our insurer requires a letter (not an email) from the customer attesting to the damage or non-receipt. By submitting your order you are agreeing to provide such a letter in a timely manner in the event of damage or non-receipt.
Packages are not officially considered lost until 30 days after shipment for domestic and 45 days for international. By sumitting your order you are agreeing to file no credit card or Paypal claims before a package is officially considered lost.
Please use the same care in packing your items for return that we did in shipping them to you. Shipping jewelry in plain envelopes with a little bubble wrap IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!
While we want you to be happy with your purchase we do not sell "on approval". Please do not order several items if you intend to choose only a few of them to keep and return the rest. You will be assessed a restocking fee equal to 15% of the sale price of the items returned.
Those who abuse our liberal return policy by repeatedly (meaning more than twice) returning all or part of their orders will also be subject to a restocking fee of 25% of sale price.
Item(s) must be received by us within 7 days of your receipt and be in the exact same condition as shipped (no refund for damaged or tampered with items). If your initial payment was by check or money order, please include a self addressed stamped envelope with your return. If you fail to do so, cost of postage to mail your refund check will be deducted from your refund.
Items not received by us within 7 days of your receipt (14 days for international customers) will be subject to a restocking fee of 25% of sale price unless the postmark on the package is within 2 days of your receipt of the item.
Absolutely no refunds will be given for items not received by us within 30 days of the original shipping date unless the postmark on the package is within 2 days of your receipt of the item.
You will be responsible for return shipping and insurance costs. If you choose to return an item without insurance, loss or damage in transit is your responsibility as no refund will be issued for items lost or damaged in transit.
Please notify us if you intend to use a carrier other than the Postal Service so we can be looking for the package. Both FedEx and UPS tend to leave packages where they may be stolen or not seen for several days.
A refund, (minus shipping, any processing fees incurred by us in relation to your order and any applicable restocking fees), will be issued within 48 hours of receipt of item by Granny's Jewelry Box.
Return Policy - Diamond & Gems
Even though we believe that most people are honest, we still have to protect ourselves from the small percentage of the population who would switch stones and then return the item. Therefore, refunds will only be given on diamond and precious gem jewelry once it has been ascertained by our jeweler that the stone returned is the one shipped.
Anything described as a diamond or precious gem has been verified as such, however, we make no quarantee as to the quality of any stone we sell. To do that would require a written appraisal for each piece, which in turn would drive up our prices considerably. Of course, if there are obvious flaws that can be seen with the naked eye, that information will be included
in the description of the item.
